The Executive Director, Trade Nigeria, Hon Nwabueze Buchi,George, this morning briefed the press on the commitment to further strengthen Nigeria – Korea bilateral trade“Nigeria has been one of the most important friends of Korea in the African continent. In 2011, bilateral trade volume between the two countries exceeded 3 million US dollars, making it the second largest trading partner for Korea in Africa. Many of Korea’s top enterprises operate in Nigeria, including various sectors as trade, power and energy”. He further disclosed that “the Nigeria – Korea Joint Trade Mission and Business Delegation of Industries, Investment and Commerce to Asia -January, 20th – 25th 2020 organized by Trade Nigeria has been channeled to promote this relationship”.

Update: 2019/2020 Nigeria - Korea Joint Trade Mission and Business Delegation, of Industries, Investment and Commerce.


In an Interactive section with the Executive Chairman, Trade Nigeria, Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George Esq, held on 28th November, 2019 with Journalist at the Trade Nigeria Secretariat. The Chairman disclosed that “the event Nigeria – Korea Joint Trade Mission schedule for 20th – 25th January will feature lots of notable speakers, Trade Experts, Entrepreneurs, Leaders from across the globe”.

The Nigeria Economy

The economy of Nigeria grew 1.8 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2018, up from a 1.5 percent expansion in the prior period, as non-oil rose faster and oil sector shrank less. On a quarterly basis, the economy advanced 9.5 percent, higher than a 2.9 percent growth in the previous quarter.

South Korea GDP (PPP): $2.02 trillion. The South Korean economy, known for conglomerates is the 11th largest economy in the world with a nominal GDP of $1.53 trillion

UPDATE: Nigeria Asia Joint Trade Mission and Business Delegation 2019/2020

Trade Nigeria has revealed that Nigerian top business owners Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola and Tony Elumelu will be speakers at the Nigeria - Korea Economic Forum scheduled for December 2019.
The event previously scheduled for December 5 to 12, 2019, will take place from December 20 to 25, 2019, adding that the change of date is to ensure that the goals of the event are achieved.
The Chief Executive Officer of Trade Nigeria, Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George said the change was made by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo to put strategies in place for “the event geared towards bringing more investment to the country”
Buchi George said, “The change of date has made the event bigger and better. We are really sorry for the inconveniences this would cause, we believe it is all for the best.
“We now have Africa’s foremost investors of Nigerian extraction Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu and Femi Otedola as speakers at the event and they will speak of the quality we are looking at and we really appreciate every great efforts made by the Honorable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment; Office of The Secretary to the Government of the Federation Abuja and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA)”
“It has been a long journey and we hope to bring something back home for the country at the end of the day”
Nigeria - Korea Economic Forum is geared at boosting trade relationship between both countries, it is part of the Nigeria – Asia Business and Economic Forum with more coming up in 2020 in other countries.
Other parts of the Nigeria – Asia Business and Economic Forum series are schedule for: China – February 17 to 28, 2020; Japan – April 23 to 30, 2020; Vietnam - June 25 – 30, 2020 and Taiwan – July 26 to 29, 2020

ECONOMIC GROWTH THROUGH DIVERSIFICATION AND INDUSTRIALIZATION

Nwabueze Buchi George in he’s speech during the last executive meeting held in Abuja disclosed that capital investment promotes Sustainable Economic Growth and Industrialization. He also said the organization has put in place strategies to change how rural communities think about economic development by helping them leverage their strongest asset.
The meeting also deliberated on the organization 2020 projects and reviewed the performance of the organization so far.
Those at the meeting include Board of Directors, Management Team and other Stake holders.

Nigeria – Korea Economic Forum gets FG, KOTRA approvals. Ahead of its December 5th 2019 kick off date, the Nigeria - Korea Economic Forum has received a massive boost with approvals from both Nigeria and Korea governments. The meeting which took place in Singapore early October 2019 with representative of both Trade Nigeria and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) has been approved by the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment and the Ministry is willing to give every support possible to make the event a success. According to the Chief Executive Officer of Trade Nigeria, Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George, the approvals cemented how authenticate the event and the plans on ground will further strengthen it to drive success. Buchi George revealed that the previous meeting with KOTRA was fruitful as it has paved way for Trade Nigeria to reach other organizations in South Korea and will further help create the needed partnerships to drive the goals of the event “We now have KOTRA and Federal government of Nigeria on our side” he said. “We are really working to make Nigeria – Korea Economic Forum a success. Aside fast tracking visa arrangement for Nigerian delegates, we want to also make sure we have the approvals of all relevant bodies in both countries. Our goals are obvious
