NIGERIA - JAPAN BILATERAL TRADE MISSION AND BUSINESS DELEGATION POSTPONED TO 2021

The postponement was the most appropriate response to the global disruption by the coronavirus pandemic.

The organizing committee agreed that a postponement would be the best way to ensure that the objective for the event is actualize and to guarantee the safety of the participants.

Nigeria - Japan Bilateral Trade Mission and Business Delegation will be held by the summer of 2021: Japan (5th - 10th June, 2021) South Korea (25th - 30th April, 2021) 

The event “must be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021, to safeguard the health of the participants, everybody involved in the events and the international community”, the Organizing Committee of the trade mission said later in a joint statement in Abuja.

Accordingly, adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure preparations through the winter and spring season for the event in summer.

The decision was welcomed by Trade Nigeria chief executive, Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George, who said the only choice is to postpone the event. “It is with profound sadness that we announce the postponement, but in all consciousness it is the only decision we can support, in light of the devastating impact Covid-19 is having on our nation, our communities and our families,” he said.
